The year 2008 has been a landmark in the history of the Society. We have registered with Give India; a U.S. based organization which lists very few select NGO's after subjecting them to extremely stringent norms of credibility and transparency. The Government of India has conferred the prestigious National Award for "Empowerment of Disabled People in 2008" to SFCD, in recognition of the excellent service rendered by the organization in this field.
The Give India listing for Society for Child Development is now on-line.
Give India is a donation platform and that allows you to support a cause that has been scrutinized for transparency credibility. It was a process that took almost 8 months to complete and the Give India team checked each and every one of our documents and processes before listing us.
We hope that through this channel (that supports secure online payments and provides US/UK tax exemption, details given at the end of the mail) will facilitate the efforts made by you to raise funds for our work with the disabled.
You will need only about 15 minutes - during which you could browse through http://www.giveindia.org/t-igivepage.aspx. This will enable you to create your own igive page and Email the link to your page (www.giveindia.org/give/pledgepage/yourpagename) to your family, friends and others.
You will thus be able to raise funds for a cause which is so close to your heart without taxing your pocket. I am enclosing some useful tips for creating your igive page and a list of options you could select from for creating your page.
We request you to just another small favor - please send us the email IDs of other people who would be willing to take the trouble of raising funds for our cause in this manner.
We look forward to your help and support in our endeavors to help establish a dignified life for persons with mental retardation.

For UK Tax Payers:
If you are a UK taxpayer, for every pound that you have donated, GIVE UK can reclaim 28 pence from the IRS helping your donation go further. We are currently exploring partnerships to help provide tax deductions to donors in other countries as well. If you know of an organisation in the country where you stay, that would like to partner with us, or if you would like us to notify you as soon as we are able to provide tax deductions in your country, please contact us
